  • As a 32 bit app, NS1 can only run on devices with iOS 10 or earlier. Sorry, but there's no way around that. However, if you have an windows PC or old Mac, you can download it and try to run it there. I was unsuccessful running NS1 on MacBook Pro with macOS Monterey. Same problem, no 32-bit app support. According to this…
  • It might be worth checking if Hanon B70 shows up in GarageBand and/or Logic on the Mac.
  • Right where I said it was.

  • Some plugins don't report their presets properly, so the host can't list them. You'll find that other hosts don't list those presets either. The only solution is to use DrumComputer's internal preset browser instead.
  • Playing the sample is as easy as hitting the Root note, which defaults to C3 but can be changed. If the recording is set to Loop (the default), it'll repeat for as long as the note is held down. So you can place a pattern with that note in the timeline. The biggest drawback is the sample won't sound unless the playhead…

  • Pick an Oscillator, change its type to Sample, then hit the Rec Sample button that you'll now see.

  • I've used it a few times. It's OK but to me is more trouble than it's worth. You can't record directly into it from audio inputs, so you have to record in standalone and import. And, you don't see the audio in the timeline which is inconvenient. (You can create empty dummy tracks to mark audio positions but ...) To me…

  • Another way to use vocal or other audio samples in NS2 is with a plugin such as Loopy Pro or 4Pockets Multitrack Recorder. Not a great option though. You can't record directly to them in NS2, you have to import to them after recording to them standalone.

  • Huh? You can record voice to both Slate and Obsidian. Is what you really mean that it should have a way to record audio to the timeline? If so ... sorry, not gonna happen. NS2 isn't getting feature updates any more.

  • I'm glad to hear that. I was hoping it would be there. Virtually always when apps completely disappear even from purchased items it's because the developer has let their account lapse. I kinda figured Apple was keeping up with their account. 😂 No need to thank Apple. They didn't have to do a thing to keep it there.
  • I hope it works out for ya. 👍🏼 Even if it doesn't, iMazing is a great way to minimize the chance of losing apps that disappear from the App Store. If you have a backup already, you can restore the .ipa even if the app is gone from the App Store and your device. Hey @SlapHappy - did you check for Alchemy by regular search…
  • Maybe try backing up Alchemy from the iPad Air to a Mac or PC using iMazing (the free version is enough for this). If you're able to do that then you may be able to restore that "apk" to the Pro.
  • Looks to me like you’re logged into the App Store under a different Apple ID than you were when you purchased NanoStudio 2. Are you using the app with Family Sharing? I don’t think NS2 IAPs can be used across Family Sharing accounts.
  • You might get more responses if you post over on the Audiobus Forum. There's lots of activity there, and plenty of NS2 users. (fwiw, I've not heard anyone over there mentioning problems with NS2 on iOS 16)
  • It's pretty simple for me. iOS is for creating and desktop is for final arranging, mixing, and mastering. Since sometime around 2003 I go completely blank creatively the moment I sit down at a desktop computer. Probably because I used to spend 10-12 hours a day trying to make the damn things do what they're supposed to do…
  • I think you’ll need to archive the projects to be sure they contain all the files. Hopefully someone more familiar with NS2 can provide guidance.
  • You don't need Streambyter to play an AUv3 instrument in NS2. If you care to post links to those videos maybe we can understand better what is leading to this the issue you're seeing.
  • You can't. But using the iOS files app you can copy the files to the drive.
  • I think you're getting confused over AUv3 instruments vs. AUv3 Midi FX. You don't need Streambyter at all for an AUv3 instrument. @SlapHappy has explained adding AUv3 instruments, so hopefully that clarifies it for you. But to expand on that a little - there are three basic kinds of AUv3 plugins. * AUv3 instruments can be…
  • There's no defined convention for octave naming in the MIDI specification. One app or hardware may call note 36 or 48 any octave they like, but it the difference is usually only an octave or two. It's just one of those things that you have to get used to with MIDI. It's been that way since 1983.
  • Just FYI... Apple has taken 15% commission, not 1/3 (30%) for some years now. Only developers that sell more than $1,000,000 per year fall into the 30% bracket. I believe Korg could be in this range, but I doubt there is even one other music app developer in that boat. As for developers getting more money for their work, I…
  • Which iOS hardware you use a plugin on should have no bearing on whether it will work or not. You could start by naming the plugin. If no one here owns it, then you might want to ask over on the Audiobus Forum - there are a lot more visitors over there.
  • As for recording, try setting the swing to 1/8 rather than 1/16 to see if you notice more difference. With 1/16 swing, nothing hitting right on the 16th note gets quantized.
  • You're in the wrong place. You need to go to Actions > Quantize and use the swing slider there to apply swing to already placed notes. The Grid settings in your screenshot only adjust the grid lines for placing notes. Look closely and you'll see the grid lines moving. I hope that helps.
  • You can find crash logs in iOS Settings > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data. They're very tough to glean any useful information from though unless you're a developer and are familiar with the code. Even then actually. There are daily, 90Day, journal, etc. that you can ignore. If NS2 crashed then you should see…
  • The size of the samples in Koala is a critical factor. Each sample takes up memory, and there is only so much memory that all instances of a particular AU combined are allowed. A dozen Koala instances with just a few small samples each can be fine while just a few instances with a lot of large samples can cause problems.
  • You may want to ask over on the AudioBus Forum whether or not anyone is using NS2 on the iOS 16 beta. There are thousands of regular visitors on that forum, and you’re likely to find someone who can answer. Not every iOS version causes any DAW problems requiring fixes. Most apps keep working most of the time. The last time…
  • This isn't specific to Scaler 2, but does show how to record midi from AUv3 midi plugins in NanoStudio 2. Maybe start there and ask questions if you need further help. https://wiki.audiob.us/doku.php?id=auv3_midi_recording_workarounds#nanostudio_2
  • Here is some detailed info and a video about the way I prefer to do it. https://wiki.audiob.us/doku.php?id=auv3_midi_recording_workarounds#nanostudio_2 https://youtu.be/J7zHid9ic1s
  • If an app has been removed from the App Store and you haven't already backed it up using iMazing then I know of no other way to preserve it. Perhaps through jailbreaking, but I doubt it. In any case it wouldn't be worth it because I imagine you'd have to jailbreak both the older device and the newer one.
