If all you want is midi in to play instruments NS2 then you don’t need AUM or Audiobus. Just make sure that Background Audio/Midi is enabled in Xynthesizer’s settings. Set Xyenthesizr to output on Virtual Midi, then select Xynthesizer as the midi input for the track.
If you want audio from Xynthesizer then you need AUM, or Audiobus or another suitable host.

Do you mean for MIdi sequencing only, or do you want to get the audio to sound in NS2?
