I have Logic on my Mac Pro but my work (video editing) is all done on the Mac and I just like to get away from it so I don't do any music on it. Everything I do in NS2 or other apps (usually AUM) gets exported to wav and then arranged in Cubasis 3. I tried most of the other DAW's including MTD and found I get along best…

Sorry it’s not working for you. It’s strange that some people on the Audiobus forum who have essentially the same setup as me have all these weird issues and I don’t see them at all. I wonder if there’s some kind of small manufacturing defect on those devices. No way to know I guess. 😎👍🏼

This happened to me recently. Never before and not since. Just took a re-boot of my iPad to fix it. Missing AU’s is a known iOS issue and not specific to any one app. And it’s very sad to see you so dismissive of one of the best music apps on iOS. “So-so soft synth and a bunch of drum kits”? I think not. As you say, you…

If nothing else changed except the addition of audio tracks I would never use any other DAW on iOS. For my purposes NS2 has the absolute best workflow and UX. I’ve tried so hard to work with the others but there’s always something that makes me say “too bad this isn’t implemented like in NS2”. My compromise is to use NS2…

I find MTR too fiddly to use in NS2. What I’ve been doing is creating basic tracks in NS2, doing mixdowns and arranging them in Cubasis. It’s the most reasonable workflow I’ve found for what I do. After spending time (and money) during COVID trying out most of the iOS DAW’s, I still think NS2 is the best for workflow and…

There’s a default pitch envelope in the envelope section of Obsidian.

+1

It’s drag and drop from a menu on the timeline. Pretty similar to everything else in NS2. Do it once and it’s easy ever after.

No chance? Zip your files, Open In NS2 from Files. Done.

I’m happy with starting things in NS2 and exporting wav’s to arrange in ZB. If I get any ideas in ZB that I would prefer to create in NS2 it’s easy enough to go back to the source project, do whatever and then dump wav’s of the new parts into ZB. I never thought much of ZB until I spent some time with it. It suits my way…

If you’re talking about Zenbeats you’re right. I’d take ZB over GB any day. 😎

Most likely a “bad” AU. Some AUfx will cause that. I’ve not come across an AU instrument that does.

My best practices go back to the 8.3 standard so I guess they’re ingrained. 😆

Standard file naming is anything after . is file extension. I don’t use anything but hyphen, underscore or space in any file name to prevent problems like this. It’s not a bug.

Thanks!

Well done! 🙂

Nice! B)

Nice one @peanut_gallery B)

Thanks! Rebirth was great. Used it a lot. I like the combo of Pure Acid and Troublemaker. This one is just Pure Acid this time. 😀

Always! I never get tired of it. 😀

Thanks! 😎

Yes. In the meantime SynthMaster 1 is pretty cool for that.

+1 to track menu popping up immediately

@Cray23 Since the Bass was mentioned a couple of times - shout out to @Zupi who made a bunch of awesome FM patches for Obsidian. The Bass is _FM Analog Bass through NS2 EQ, Compressor, Phaser and FAC Bandit for the funky delays. I was pretty pleased with that sound myself. Thanks!

@Trigger_the_Monkey @peanut_gallery @Arpseechord Thanks everyone! Appreciate the input!

You can play/sequence the built-in sounds. The drum machine syncs nicely. But no sampling or playback of your own samples. No access to any parameters. Fun but limited as an AU. This is true in AUM as well. I’ll get in touch with them when I get a chance.

That's why you are @King

When you use most AUfx in full screen mode there’s no way to bypass it without exiting full screen mode. It would be nice if NS2’s bypass button was available in full screen. Crunck happens to have its own bypass which reminded me to post about this issue which I’ve actually meant to post about in the past.
