Recovering old NanoStudio 1 files

edited August 2019 in Support

Hi, I used Nano 1 extensively from 2013-2015, and have over 50 projects in it. All of my devices are updated to iOS 12, so I can't re-open Nano on those, but I was wondering if there was an easy way to export old files that I'm not thinking of.

I'm considering buying an iPhone 5 running iOS 7 to see if I could get the old files up and running, but it's been so long since I've used it, I don't remember what file management and transfer is like. I may have a backup of the files somewhere on my computer, as I used the desktop version of NanoSync and NanoStudio sparingly.

tl; dr: Can I get my old NanoStudio files working again on a new device running iOS 7?

Thanks!

  • What about using the desktop version?

NS1 definitely works on iPhone 5 / iOS 7.2.1 (just tried it) .. and yes, for transfering files PC -> NS1 is "NanoSync" app which should still work on Win/Mac

You can download it here (scroll down)

  • You actually can get the NS1 files off of a phone with iOS 12. Look for the thread that explains how - I don’t remember the details.
