Oh wow. End of an era… but iaps ms o be not available for some of us who recently migrated o new devices… the Store inNS2 is empty, not even free iap can be downloaded

I heard from Cambler on the Loopy Pro Forum IAPs are available for download and, indeed, are free. But yeah, I really, really, really hope that NS2 will live on and that Matt won't throw in the towel.

Thanks God the situation improved. But still is not perfect.
Would be great. Perhaps the developer can sell the source code on an auction or something. So it can be a basis of NS3. Guys at audiobusforum would for sure help
And in the meantime, if NS2 would be abandoned, would be great if the IAP files would be made visible (not read only) if possible since now I am making a backup of all IAPs and there is no way to copy slate samples for backup.
You can save IAP patches as User patches and back everything up with iMazing to extend the life of NS2 on your devices. The read-only folder contains samples that you can’t modify or copy (as I understand it). This shouldn’t affect regular use of NS2.

I don't think iMazing can back up and restore IAP content. I would love to be wrong about that of course.
So I haven’t tried testing before and after iMazing back ups, but if you do “Save As” on an IAP patch, it will be saved as a User patch. In theory (?) when backing up via iMazing the newly created User version of the IAP would be saved. I can’t test that at the moment, but maybe later…. I still don’t have an extra “blank” iPad to restore a new copy of NS2 onto and really test the theory.
Anyone else know?
Yes, that's a different kind of backup than the app backup I've been describing. The app backup doesn't copy anything from your device. It only downloads from the App Store.
iMazing does have a separate file system level backup that includes the app's Document folder (but not the app itself). So, in theory, if you save each and every patch individually, then do a full device backup, you might be able to restore them as a separate process.
But, the IAPs themselves cannot be backed up and cannot be restored. As a test, I just picked up the few remaining IAPs that I didn't already have, then tried to do another app backup with iMazing. iMazing would not back the app up again because it already had the latest version.
Like you, I don't have a device I want to remove NS2 from to test any of this.
Hmmm. Yes. Failing that, if one does “Save as” with the IAP, one can (and I know this is tedious) get each IAP patch onto an Obsidian track (probably on multiple projects) and Archive that/those project(s) and export them to a PC, external hard drive, other iDevices, etc. When importing the archived project onto a new iDevice, just remember to save the patch on the new iDevice so the patch will be available to other projects.
Yeah, it sucks, but we should probably have done this well before now. Maybe this is a solution for people like @jwmmakerofmusic ? No, no one will enjoy doing this, but there really aren’t that many IAPs, and for myself…. I won’t save all of them. We all have different tastes in music.

Still slate samples are not saved nor moved to a new location but are in the read only area of storage. So you end up with user slate kits without samples

I hadn’t thought about Slate Kits. I haven’t tried saving IAP kits as User kits to see if samples are transferred to a new iDevice. So maybe it wouldn’t work (?), but to be honest, I don’t use many of the Slate kits anyway, and if there are some that I really needed, I would just make my own samples by recording to AudioShare and create new User kits. I should probably do that anyway to cut down the amount of samples to just the ones that I really use. That would help streamline my workflow. And resampling and creating new kits will help when archiving projects, just to make double-dog sure that the samples are in the archive.
All of this sounds like a pain in the ass, but much of the dealing with NS2 IAP patches & kits from here on out is going to come down to how much time people are willing to put into them. Preserve them if you really need them before current iDevices stop working.

Noticed this as well…
